Miss Independence

The young women in our ward had a "Teddy Bear Picnic" and invited children from the ward. Jacque, one of the girls that plays with McKenzie while I teach piano lessons, invited her. McKenzie was sooooo excited. She was able to choose one of her bears to take (she chose the one Jason gave to her for Valentine's Day and apparently named him "Heart" at the party). She was excited that she was the only one from our family invited and made sure quite a few times that I was going to drop her off and then come and pick her up afterwards (more concerned about the dropping off than the picking up!) "You're going to drop me off, right, Mom?" She was exploding with excitement as we walked up to the church doors. I had to take pictures of her first outing alone. It was so cute! She got an award for having the most loveable bear, got treats and played games.......what an amazing night in the life of a 3-year-old!

How fun for McKenzie. I remember the feelings of are you sure your ok with me just dropping you off. Well can you at least act a little sad or scared? I'm glad she had such a great time.

It is so fun when they are excited about being big. I am glad that she had so much fun.
