Side note: O.k., it's just all too obvious - I've given myself away with this one. Yes, McKenzie dressed herself this day. No, I did not even touch her hair with a brush or comb. Yes, I'm pretty sure that Ethan slept in that handsome mis-matched number and wore it through the day. What was I doing all day, you must ask? Well, can't quite remember, but we must have been having way too much fun for hygiene (glad I'm not in any of these photos)! Or maybe I was accomplishing way too much (or relaxing way too much - I grimace as I say it) to be more, not that it's any of your business, attentive as a mother! :) .....well, all's well that ends well.

Time with Daddy!
I love summertime! Work is a little slower-paced and less stressful for Jason now that the students are out of school. We even see him between 5-6 p.m. a few nights/week. What the life! He came home one night and said excitedly, "Kenzie, guess what we're going to do tonight?" Then he whispered in her ear and told her not to tell me 'cuz it was a secret. After dinner he rounded up all the blankets from the house, re-arranged the couches in the family room and made a huge fort that took up the whole room (what's more attractive than a man with a princess blanket?). McKenzie and Ethan had a blast chasing him around and being chased through the tunnels it created. Scroll down to the last picture and you will see who conquered in the end. How fun to have a daddy around to play with! Afterwards he had a movie for them to watch. It's so nice to have time as a "fwamily" - (as McKenzie would put it).

Miss Independence
The young women in our ward had a "Teddy Bear Picnic" and invited children from the ward. Jacque, one of the girls that plays with McKenzie while I teach piano lessons, invited her. McKenzie was sooooo excited. She was able to choose one of her bears to take (she chose the one Jason gave to her for Valentine's Day and apparently named him "Heart" at the party). She was excited that she was the only one from our family invited and made sure quite a few times that I was going to drop her off and then come and pick her up afterwards (more concerned about the dropping off than the picking up!) "You're going to drop me off, right, Mom?" She was exploding with excitement as we walked up to the church doors. I had to take pictures of her first outing alone. It was so cute! She got an award for having the most loveable bear, got treats and played games.......what an amazing night in the life of a 3-year-old!
